This Housing Association support our Advice Workers with more complex Welfare Rights issues. We have an arrangement allowing us to refer our clients who have private landlords to SHA for issues including mandatory reconsiderations and appeals.
We work in partnership with local, Govanhill Free Church and Queen’s Park Govanhill Parish Church who provide a venue for some of our events and activities, and provide volunteers. Along with a number of other churches in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, across various denominations, they offer financial support either corporately or through individual members of their congregations.
We have worked in partnership with local charity ‘The Space’ on a number of occasions. The Space work specifically with Roma women and The Well has worked in conjunction with them to host events for local women.
Giggle n’ Grow
We have a partnership with Giggle and Grow (formerly Bookbug Scotland) and one of their representatives now leads a Bookbug session as part of our They have also provided children’s books for our waiting area that are translated into several languages.
“We are happy to have a Bookbug session as part of Bubbles, as this is a means of us reaching minority ethnic parents with literacy related activities. Bubbles is well attended and a very friendly environment. Very few minority ethnic parents attend the other sessions held locally.”- Alicia, Giggle and Grow
Glasgow South East Foodbank
The Well is a referral site for this foodbank. We usually issue around 100 vouchers to our clients each year, although we have seen a sharp increase with the cost of living crisis.
We have a good relationship with Police Scotland and was the pilot for their third party reporting scheme on race-related crime.
