The Well has been committed to helping people to fill in Scotland’s Census 2022. We recognise the importance of having all communities fairly represented. Our clients are often disadvantaged due to limited English language skills and/or digital skills, and often lack of access to digital devices.
We’ve been helping spread the word about the Census, to ensure that our clients are given a fair opportunity to respond. We’ve been mentioning the Census to our clients during all of our Advice Sessions over the last few weeks, and at our Bubbles Toddler Group and Chai and Chat groups too. We have also displayed posters in both English and some other local languages such as Urdu to e
nsure that everybody is aware.
Crucially, we’ve been helping people to physically fill in the Census using our devices and reading out the questions to clients, ensuring they have a full understanding what is being asked, prior to selecting their answer. Translators have been used when required.
Today is the last day to fill in Scotland’s Census, so make sure you have your say. If anyone needs support to fill in the Census, please come along to The Well and we will be happy to help.
