We’ve been successful in gaining funding from the Global Majority Fund through CRER for a pilot Life Skills Project. This is an exciting break-through as the project will focus on only a small number of individuals, with the hope of making a deeper, more lasting difference in their lives; many funders prefer to reach larger numbers.
The plan is to run a ten-week programme, three times in the next year with four participants in each programme. The aim of the programme is to increase the wellbeing and employability of participants. The programme will be completely bespoke to each individual who attends, depending on their own unique needs. For example, some individuals may require support with digital skills, others may need to build their confidence and resilience, and some may need voluntary work experience to enhance their CV. We plan to connect with other organisations to ensure that a full programme of tailored support is provided.
The first step of this pilot one-year project was employing a Life Skills Coordinator. We are delighted that Well volunteer, Heather, has been successful in her application and has begun this post. We will provide updates throughout the year about how this exciting new project develops.
