On Monday night we held a Neighbours’ Open Evening at The Well. The idea was to give residents who live locally to our new building an opportunity to meet us and find out more about what we do.
Despite there being a Scotland v Georgia game on at Hampden, accompanied by torrential rain, we got several visitors. It was a lovely, relaxed evening where our staff and volunteers chatted to neighbouring residents and made them feel welcome over a tea/coffee and a biscuit.
Some of the children were kept entertained by a very competitive game of ‘Dobble’, while their parents found our more about our Advice service.
Hi Louise,
Thanks for getting in touch. The Well strives to be a place of welcome, hospitality and friendship to our friends from all over the world, including our neighbours. Our ‘Meet the Neighbours’ event was advertised locally and digitally. You can get a flavour for the charity and what we do by looking around our website or visiting our Facebook/Instagram pages @thewellglasgow. If you aren’t on social media we also have a noticeboard outside the office. We would also welcome you to come visit our office and see first hand the work that we do.
I know it’s late however you could have maybe notified the local residents that this was happening. We only see the external impact on our environs.
