It’s the little things

It’s the little things…

The digital world can be daunting. It’s a place full of opportunities but also a lot of uncertainty. This feeling is amplified by ‘smart’ mobile phones. Just because we all have a computer in our pocket doesn’t mean that everyone knows how to use it safely or confidently.  For some of the people we help, a task like downloading an app can be a major barrier. They worry about scams and don’t feel confident navigating new technology.

That’s why a recent visit from a family was so special. They came to The Well for help with an app that gives them access to information about their children’s school. We took the time to sit with them, walk them through the process, and answer their questions. We got to see the look of delight when they could access the app and get a glimpse of their child learning at school.

What seemed like a simple task transformed into something bigger. By helping them connect digitally, we also helped them connect to their child’s school and education. We helped them feel like a part of the school community, and in turn, feel a sense of belonging.

This is just one example of the countless small acts that build confidence and connection every day at The Well. It’s a reminder that our work goes far beyond providing a service; it’s about empowering people and helping them find their place.
