Our Life Skills Project is now well underway. Our Project Coordinator has recruited the first four participants and the first of our 10-week programmes has begun. Week one was about identifying needs. A survey was initially conducted that explored the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns, from job loss to isolation. This was followed by a group Life Coaching session in which participants took part in an exercise called the ‘Wheel of life’, pin pointing areas of their lives that were going well and areas that weren’t and then looking at ‘smart’ goal setting.
Our Project Coordinator has also met with some other local organisations and found ways in which we can partner with them to best meet the identified needs of participants, from the need for improved wellbeing and reduced isolation to improved English language and digital skills.
We are excited to see participants taking the first steps over the coming weeks to overcoming barriers and achieving their goals.
